not mine
i use the word just a lot —
not as in justice, but as in only. Will try not to use it so much. Endeavoring not to use endeavor so much 😂 … where is he? Just learned that: ˈjəst
as an adjective =
-
- a: having a basis in or conforming to fact or reason b: conforming to a standard of correctness
- a (1): acting or being in conformity with what is morally upright or good (2): being what is merited b: legally correct
as an adverb =
-
- a: exactly, precisely b: very recently
- a: by a very small margin b: immediately, directly
- a: only, simply b: quite, very
- perhaps, possibly
And all this time, I thought I was using it in the most common way | modernized | slang, but I wasn’t. Why did I think that? It has two distinct definitions, and I use the adverb more than the adjective even though the adjective is one of my most fierce beliefs — to be just + fair, without favoritism.
