it happened last monday

Last Monday was exactly one week since I began meditating consistently. While I focused on my breathing that evening, I found myself suspended in a moment of serenity that I had never experienced. If I were to describe it, I fear it may sound contrived. So, suffice it to say that I now

set aside minutes here and there

throughout the day to focus on my breathing, a thought, a sound, or a short phrase. Sometimes I focus on my breath (mostly), then something else, but I always return to my breath when thoughts drag me away. Does that sound like stillness? 🤔 The mind wanders, yes,

but the return from wandering

may be part of the process, part of the key. I presumed I would eventually wander less. Then … this morning … it happened again, though differently. Not less or more, yet powerful, all-encompassing, and unexpected. 

i am awed + humbled + wonder: how much more is so close at hand?
