still editing like a blue thread

Ok, so, two pages later, I stopped reading to research the name of an island because I did not reference it and thought that perhaps I should.

The main character is on her way to Osaka, Japan, and I wondered: in which of the Japanese islands is Osaka? I have been there and can’t believe I don’t remember. Did I not know? • Just read that Osaka is a city in the region of Kansai on the island of Honshu. So I clicked the Japan link to learn Honshu’s location among the other islands. Reading the names of the main islands of Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa), I laughed out loud because of a long-ago memory.

We discussed where to go for dinner, I was in Key West, and the subject turned to the Japanese islands because we considered sushi. So I rattled off the islands of Japan. This was long before I set foot on one.
What was that island?
I named them all again. So proud.

Huh, he said, one of them is my ex-wife’s name.
Really??? Which one?
Shikoku.
Took me a second =)

was quite funny, and still is, although there’s sadness about the memory
ps: after all that, i did not change the manuscript
that’s me going on tangents and black holes to edit!
just how it goes. chao
