last weekend

a good friend and i spent three
magnificent days doing nothing yet so much. Paradoxical. Not really. Kind of? Exactly. The main purpose of the trip was to listen to the author of a book I almost didn’t read. That should teach me, right? In between the speaker presentations, there was much available to do, programs to attend, which we did separately:
yoga classes, meditation,
healing arts (comprised of acupuncture, massages, facials, energy work, bodywork, ayurvedic treatments, and much more), walk trails, do nothing, eat (we always met for meals) . . . but, phew! Why we seemingly didn’t do much yet left there wondering how we had time to breathe.
my 1st class was a gentle yoga class
where I did some amazing poses. How, you ask? They either stretched — no, it was not the stretch — whatever it was brought deep repose (want to say peace but: how could muscles and sinews bring peace?) to my entire body.
So much so that I didn’t want to come out of those poses. Child pose does that to me, always has. Well, since I first started yoga. I only recall one pose that so relaxed me: half-frog pose. Ugh, no? Although … frogs can turn into all kinds of good.

may bring the book
to our granddaughter on Thanksgiving. Bring, not give. Although it was originally for her, but the darned book is scrumptious! And the impetus for what I labeled in Scrivener: The Book. That is also how characters refer to it in the in-the-works novel A Tale To Tell.
a few months back,
a tad sad about the fate of The Book, a little spark burst in my head, and … that’s all I’m saying. Have not written about the sparking idea, but it is so there! Just jotted down the spark in case it disappears, though I don’t expect that to happen.
super anywho
I also attended a Dancing Yoga class, which was actually not yoga but tons of fun. And later that same evening Tai Chi, definitely my favorite. I’ve always wanted to try it, and now I know why. It is serene — that word again. Beautifully used by William Wordsworth

The last thing I did was have a facial. Just looked to see if it has a name (Dr. Hauschka Facial) and, kid you not, the site states that the treatment leaves you serene, amongst other things. It did.
yet, above all, the few minutes of qigong on the first evening blew me away. i had never felt energy and power so physically and tangibly. is it possible to live with that kind of … in that kind of state? yes, it is. perhaps how we are meant to experience life. we are, everything is, energy.
