Photos of last year’s dahlias – will not bore you with photos of last year’s tubers hoping to be dahlias, or photos of the lists of seeds, tubers, bulbs, plants that I have been dreaming about (and buying) this winter. It is a tad early for gardening, but not for me — I am jump-starting it =) Caged the peonies (don’t like that word) yesterday instead of waiting until I have to prod them inside the metal hoops.
there! hooped the peonies
Much better, chica! The lavender is looking sad and gray, except for the Phenomenal lavender planted last year. The lemongrass, which is not supposed to make it through winter (especially the ferociously cold and snowy one we had), has a scent already 💚 even though I cannot see anything but dry sheaves.
This year, for sure, I think, my husband and I will have separate beds (garden, that is). I PLAN to container-garden and grow in the cool-looking bags I ordered in February. We already added two beds. Took down ½ the garden fence … who knows how much of the backyard we will use. He said he’d rather garden than try to maintain the lawn.

None of my characters are avid gardeners because when I began writing the novels, I wasn’t a gardener — but I can change that in a blink (changed will to can 🙄)
