october 22 question
It may be too soon to post About Me and, to boot, about the same subject, but I already penned the post, so here it is.
write a haiku about your day
Ok, looked it up: an unrhymed verse having three lines of five, seven, five syllables — also: usually having a seasonal reference. But the prompt is for the day.
Looked up the word verse for fun (was not, took me into a rabbit hole for sure):a line of metrical writing. See what I mean? After researching a tad, I concluded the definition is a bit complicated and barely understood by me, so I’ll spare you. Welcome.
If I were to look for the last 5-year journal, I bet it would have five “nopes” because the answer for ’21 and ’22 is nope. Oh, in 2021, I wrote:
for the 7th year: nope … why? …
ok, now we know
So I asked this morning before attempting the haiku: why indeed? (Super like that word, always have. “Always” being relative. A friend said indeed in conversation, and the word stuck. It so reminds me of him.
Strange that, isn’t it? It was like a burst of light, perhaps because of our surroundings, but that’s how I remember the word (this was over 15 years ago).
See, someone else was speaking, and he said indeed as an affirmation. It’s all he said while slightly assenting. Indeed: without any question. Now that I’ve seen its definition, I like it even more.
Oof, as I wrote affirmation, the word firmament slid through my consciousness. Also a neat word. Was about to write lovely, but lovely it quite isn’t. Interesting, a synonym of firmament is welkin. Never heard that before. Definitely not neat and absolutely not lovely.
